Day 2: A Rough Beginning

Arriving into Heathrow Airport at around 7 am GMT was difficult for all due to the long 8+ hour flight time, the little sleep gained, and the five hour time difference. Everyone was excited though to get onto the next flight and get to Dublin. However, due to a longer than expected time at customs, the group was separated in two as one made it through and the other were refused from rushing to the connecting flight and ultimately both had to reschedule to a later one. Though this new connecting flight was now a few hours out, that time flew by as the groups navigated their way through Heathrow Airport, getting caught up in security checks and unsure wait times, and barely reaching the gate just in time for boarding. I was exalted and I am sure everyone else was too when we finally reached Dublin by around noon. This, unfortunately, was not the end of the days misfortunes. Somehow during the changing from the first London-Dublin flight to the next, the checked baggage of seven people in the group did not make it on the plane. This caused some initial panicking, but these pieces of luggage should arrive shortly. To end the day the entire group enjoyed a meal at a local restaurant for fish and chips, stew, and other wonderful dishes.

Though the trip has had a rough beginning, I am still exited to see and experience the next coming days so that the these misfortunes today will simply become interesting additives that will ultimately add to the memories and stories of the trip to Ireland.
